Coulson Oil Board of Directors Announces Management Changes

As part of its long-term business plan - including management succession - the Board of Directors of Coulson Oil Company, Inc., announces the election of David Zakrzewski as president of the company, and Eddie Martin and Lance West as senior vice presidents. The appointments are effective immediately.

Zakrezewski was also elected to the board of directors of the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce at the group's 145th Annual Meeting on December 15th.

2004 Chamber Chairman Mike Coulson, who served as Coulson Oil president for the past 27 years, retains his position as Chairman of the Board of Coulson Oil. He is the son of company co-founder, Ray Coulson, and has worked for the firm for more than 35 years.

According to Coulson, the changes were made to ensure a smooth transition of leadership for the continued growth and success of the company. "Throughout my career, I have seen many privately-owned firms succeed in business, but fail in transition planning. Sometimes, this has resulted in the firm's ultimate business demise. Our Board has had the foresight to make certain that the company is well-positioned in terms of leadership for the future. That is the reason for these new executive changes," he said.

"I believe that in David Zakrzewski, Eddie Martin and Lance West - in addition to others in senior management of the company - we have outstanding individuals who will lead our business well into the future," Coulson said. "What we are doing today is executing a planned succession strategy to ensure the company's continued prosperity. Perpetuating the company - for ourselves and our dealers - is our first and foremost goal."

Coulson explained that the ownership of the company has not changed - only executive management. "The owners of Coulson Oil are dedicated to making our management transition work. I believe we have the right team, which together, has more than 50 years of service to the company. They are ready, experienced and capable of serving for decades to come," Coulson said.

As well, he acknowledged that Coulson Oil owners understand their role is to, "hold the new management team accountable in profitability, in our core values and in our traditions."

Zakrzewski is only the third president in the history of Coulson Oil.
