Argenta Film Series Screens The American Scream

The Argenta Film Series presents The American Scream Thursday, October 18th, at 7 pm. at Argenta Community Theater, 405 Main Street, Argenta Arts District, downtown North Little Rock. Director Michael Stephenson will be in attendance.

In a small Massachusetts community, three Halloween-obsessed households transform into neighbor-terrifying supernatural wonderlands in this documentary from the director of Best Worst Movie.

Every Halloween, sleepy Fairhaven, Massachusetts erupts with the most ambitiously creative spookery in the world.  Endless styrofoam tombstones and backyard beasts come courtesy of a few supremely dedicated local “home haunters” who’ve devoted their lives to the art of handmade monster-making.

The American Scream follows three of these horrific households to uncover the triumphs and tragedies that come with carrying the blackened banner of true Halloween spirit. This is a family friendly film.

The Argenta Film Series is a year round initiative featuring screenings and in-depth discussions with filmmakers and industry professionals from Arkansas and around the world.  The series takes place every third Thursday of each month.

All screenings are free courtesy of the William F. Laman Public Library. For  tickets, please RSVP @ http://afs-chrystal.eventbrite.com.
