Ten of Central Arkansas’ finest artists are combining their work for a show to benefit Art Connection located in the Argenta Arts District.

The group art show will take place December 5th from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Art Connection, 204 East 4th Street, North Little Rock, AR. Art Connection is a non-profit after school and summer visual arts work program for North Little Rock High School students. The show will feature the works of Matt McLeod, Dominique Simmons, Tod Swiecichowski, Barbara Satterfield, Stephen Cefalo, Julie Holt, David O’Brien, Angela Davis Johnson, Kandy Jones and Shannon Rogers. Artist and show creator, Matt McLeod envisions a way to combine the work from top-level artists with philanthropy. “I was fortunate enough to be a facilitator in Artist INC, Argenta, a series of workshops designed to help artists succeed,” said McLeod. “That experience allowed me to get to know some of Arkansas’s finest, established, and emerging artists. I decided to organize a holiday fundraiser as a way to showcase the creative talent that amassed from the weekly workshops. I’m excited. I get to promote some great artists I respect and admire as well as help raise money for an organization that helps other young artists.”

Hollie Lewis, Executive Director of Art Connection, will be hosting the event. “We are excited to hold the Art Wyrks holiday fundraiser at Art Connection,” said Lewis. “This show will allow us the opportunity to raise public awareness of Art Connection’s mission: to help under-resourced youth achieve higher education, citizen leadership and self-sufficiency through paid employment in the creative economy. I am also touched by the fact that this amazing collection of artists want to contribute partial proceeds from their sales to help young artists in our community.”

Art enthusiasts will enjoy paintings, pastels, photogravure prints, sculpture, and earthenware. The event is free and the works for sale are priced for accessibility.
