NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The William F. Laman Public Library System of North Little Rock announced Babies as the next installment in their documentary film series, Movie Mondays, on June 13th at 6 p.m.

Babies is a look at one year in the life of four newborns from around the world, from Mongolia to Namibia to San Francisco to Tokyo. Hattie is in San Francisco, Mari's in Tokyo, Baryarjargal lives out in the Mongolian steppes, and Ponijao is born amid the simple straw huts of Namibia.

Follow this quartet through their first year of life, a chronicle that director Thomas Balmes and producer Alain Chabat have likened to a nature documentary that happens to focus on humans. Babies suggests that infants are more alike in their development than they are different.

The show will occur in the auditorium at Laman's main library at 2801 Orange Street, North Little Rock.

Other scheduled movies can be accessed on Laman Library's website at www.LamanLibrary.org. The event, like all programs at Laman Library, is free and open to the public.
