New Diamond Bear brewing location opening soon

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The kegs are running low at Diamond Bear Brewing Company. We are looking at a shortage of the locally produced beer for a little while, but the silver lining is it is all part of a move to a bigger facility. Plus the promise of some new things to offer.

The new location is very close to opening, and they are hoping to start doing practice brews this week. The new spot will also have a restaurant. All the owner will say at this time is that it is going to open soon, and by the look of things, it is going to be really soon.

The name of Diamond Bear's new restaurant is the Arkansas Ale House. Right now, the menu is set, and they're experimenting with different ingredients to see what works best. One of the signature menu items is bratwurst.

"Our focus with the menu has always been to be simple, good and beer-centric," said Diamond Bear Brewing Company Found Russ Melton.

For Melton, it is all about the beer. But right now, some of these beers are in short supply.

"We are still pretty well stocked in the Pale Ale and some of the other brands we are in good shape, but there are a couple no question we will run out of," said Melton.

Once the equipment gets up and running, they will be making double.

Melton added, "Our distributors will be able to supply all of our customers for a few weeks and by that time we should have the production running. Filling the pipeline. And we will be able to fill it very quickly."

So beer lovers can enjoy Diamond Bear, inside, outside and at home.

"It is very close," said Melton.

The retail part of Diamond Bear Brewing will on at 11 a.m. on June 4th. You can buy a six pack, beer glasses, t-shirts and you can get a growler filled. They'll be open until 6 p.m. Once the rest of the brewery opens, it will be open later than it was open at the old location.
