Central Arkansas Water announces paperless billing option

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (October 7, 2014) — Central Arkansas Water (CAW) announced on Tuesday that customers may now begin to receive their monthly Utility Billing Services (UBS) bills through email.

"Our customers have been requesting paperless billing for some time. We are pleased to offer this free and easy paperless billing option to our customers as part of our commitment to providing exceptional customer service," said John Tynan, Director of Customer Relations & Public Affairs. Customers can sign up for paperless billing at www.carkw.com.

Under the name Utility Billing Services (UBS), CAW prints and mails over 125,000 bills each month. The utility hopes to see as many customers as possible take advantage of their new paperless billing option because of benefits to the customer, the utility, and the environment. "In addition to enhancing the customer service experience, the use of paperless billing will also help CAW reduce billing costs and further our sustainability efforts," notes Tynan. USPS rates have increased by over 33 percent over the last decade. According to a PayStream Advisors' report, paper invoices are responsible for 10 percent of all trees cut down worldwide. In addition, the global use of paper invoices uses as much electricity each year as the consumption of 20 million households.

Along with paperless billing, CAW also offers online account management and a number of online bill payment options. Through CAW's new online account management site, UBS customers can view their historical water use trends, view and modify account information, submit service requests, and make one-time or recurring payments. "CAW's online account management options provide our customers more control over their account information as well as how and when they make their UBS payments," said Tynan.

To sign up for paperless billing, online account management, or make a one-time or recurring online payment, customers should visit www.carkw.com and click the appropriate link. CAW has also provided step by step tutorials on their website to help walk customers through the sign up process. Customers should call CAW Customer Service at 501.372.5161 for additional information or with questions about these options.
