A new way for single Arkansans to meet attracting hundreds

A new way for single Arkansans to meet attracting hundreds

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - "I'm a single dad," Matt Mittlestat said. Bryant Steele added, "I've been divorced for a little over two years." "My ex-husband deployed and I really don't have a support system in Arkansas at all," Whitney Chase said. These are three different people with similar stories.

"A friend of mine told me I needed to join this singles group. I was like no, and everybody has the same thing, you tell them singles group and it's like oh no! I don't want to be in no singles group," Steele explained. But Steele soon discovered the group was unlike any group he's been a part of before. He said, "I still wasn't ready to date. I was mentally and emotionally damaged."

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV)- The US Department of Agriculture reports that Arkansas is the 6th fastest growing state in the country to increase its number of farmers markets. Within the last decade, the number of farmers markets in the state has tripled from 28 to 97.

Lance Cummings says he has seen markets expand across Little Rock. "We've got such a network of small growers that you can attribute that to the number of markets that are sprouting up." He says his family has been working at the Little Rock Farmer's market for 26 years now. "Being here for so long you build relationships and you have customers that come back to you specifically because they like the taste of what you're growing."

New Diamond Bear brewing location opening soon

New Diamond Bear brewing location opening soon

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The kegs are running low at Diamond Bear Brewing Company. We are looking at a shortage of the locally produced beer for a little while, but the silver lining is it is all part of a move to a bigger facility. Plus the promise of some new things to offer.

The new location is very close to opening, and they are hoping to start doing practice brews this week. The new spot will also have a restaurant. All the owner will say at this time is that it is going to open soon, and by the look of things, it is going to be really soon.

The name of Diamond Bear's new restaurant is the Arkansas Ale House. Right now, the menu is set, and they're experimenting with different ingredients to see what works best. One of the signature menu items is bratwurst.
