Argenta Market announces closure

Argenta Market announces closure

After reading some rumblings over on Twitter, I've confirmed with the Argenta Market in North Little Rock that February 8 will be their last day. Citing tough economic times and a feeling that they "couldn't be who we needed to be for the community," the person I spoke with at the market seemed pretty emotional about the closing.

Argenta Library Packing For New Digs

Argenta Library Packing For New Digs

Only a few more days to enjoy the Argenta Branch of the William F. Laman Library before it moves down the street. On Saturday (Jan. 11), its 506 Main St. location will close and will be moving to 420 Main St., the Main Street Post Office building. The branch will be closed for several weeks while they pack, move and unpack at the new location.

When they reopen in a few weeks, you'll find a lot more space - 15,000 square feet - and more features at the new and improved branch, including a separate children's department, computer lab with more computers, a gallery and exhibit space, an auditorium for bigger programs, a public meeting room and tons more.

Any books you still have check out after they close can be returned to the main library, 2801 Orange St., North Little Rock.

Back in March, the William F. Laman Library System officially began its $2.8 million renovation project for the new Argenta branch.
