  • What makes them extra special

Include “My Town Hero” in the email subject line, and we’ll take care of publishing it for you. Their story might even be told on air by THV11's Denise Middleton.

Christmas with a Jacksonville officer

Christmas with a Jacksonville officer

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) - On Saturday, December 19 at 7 a.m., the Jacksonville Police Department will take part in the annual “Christmas with a Police Officer” at Wal-Mart Supercenter located at 2000 John Harden.

This year the Jacksonville Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 16 will host 15 children. These children were nominated by their schools to participate in this event, which gives each child $100 to buy gifts for themselves and their families.

The Jacksonville Police Department believes this is another opportunity to not only give back to the community they serve, but to help build special relationships with the children involved in this program by spending quality time “shopping” with them. Officers from various ranks and divisions from the department have volunteered their time to make the difference in the lives of the children in our city.
