Bethlehem House has as its mission to improve the life situations of the homeless and nearly homeless in the community. In addition to offering a home for the homeless, the shelter provides an evening meal daily and operates a food pantry to serve the needs of those who do not have adequate resources for food.

“Talking about ‘The Hungry’ in our community is easy,” said Judi Lively. “But it’s hard to look a person in the eye and say there is no food today and we can’t help your family,” “This occurs more often at the shelter than most people would like to believe.”

Bethlehem House will host an “Empty Bowls” fundraiser Sunday, November 2.. Guests are invited to enjoy a meal of soup, bread, and dessert made by local restaurants and volunteers and served at oneChurch, 1058 Front Street (the former location of the Log Cabin) from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.. Also, local artisans and vendors will display a variety of items for sale in the Empty Bowls Marketplace. Cost for the meal is $10 per person, and vegetarian and gluten-free soups and desserts will be available. Children under 10 eat free.  Please join us in helping the homeless and hungry.
