Pulaski Tech students receives $14,000 in culinary scholarships

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Seven Pulaski Technical College students have received a combined $14,000 in scholarships from the Arkansas Hospitality Association.

All of the students attend PTC's Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Institute. Each receives a $2,000 award for the 2015-16 school year.

Dale Brooks, of Mayflower, received the Bed & Breakfast Association of Arkansas Scholarship.

Rachel Nelson of Perryville, received the Tim Mathis Memorial Scholarship, presented to an outstanding student with a committment to the hospitality industry. The award is presented by Mr. and Mrs. Rusty Mathis in memory of their son, Tim Mathis.

Pulaski Tech's Culinary Arts and Hospitality Institute offers Associate of Applied Science degrees in Baking and Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, and Hospitality Management. Technical certificates are offered in Baking and Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, and Wine and Spirit Studies. Nine additional certificates of proficiency are offered.
