Laman Library adds cultural twist to summer programs

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- The William F. Laman Public Library System announces its 2011 Summer Reading Program beginning June 1-July 22, 2011.

The 2011 theme is about exploring the various cultures throughout our world. Each department has their own theme: Children’s One World, Many Stories; Teen’s You are Here and Adult’s Novel Destinations. Online only preregistration begins Monday, May 16. Readers may enroll in person or online anytime during the program through, Friday, July 22, before closing time.

Participants will get the chance to experience many activities during the program, among the following: Celebrity Storytellers (Miss Arkansas Alyse Eady, THV’s Craig O’Neil, NLR Police Officer Tommy Norman), Magic Shows, Games, Movies, Live Animals and much more. When the program is finished, Laman Library will throw its 2 Annual Lamanpoolza, August 5, as an end of summer reading celebration.
