"Movie Mondays" continue at Laman Library
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The William F. Laman Public Library System of North Little Rock announced Thursday that its documentary film series, "Movie Mondays," will continue with Woodruff: A Lesson of Non-Violence.
Produced by the local chapter of WAND (Women’s Action for New Directions), Woodruff tells the compelling tale of an inner city elementary school in Little Rock that came together – principal, teachers, and students – and developed their own non-violent ways of dealing with the drug and gang culture that was beginning to take hold in their neighborhood.
Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion with Anncha Briggs, producer; and Pat Higginbotham, former principal and program founder.
The event, which will occur on Monday March 14, will be held at 6 p.m. in the auditorium at Laman's main library at 2801 Orange St., North Little Rock.
