Parental Involvement Event to Benefit Both Students and Parents

WHAT: This event promises to be informative and fun! Students from various schools will showcase their talents. In addition, each school will be represented by displaying the highlights of their instructional programs. Over 15 Exhibitors will be present to answer questions related to summer opportunities, child safety, scholarship information, etc.  There will be jump inflatables, free food and door prizes. Lastly, parents will have the opportunity to attend a break-out session titled, Teamwork in a Child's Educational Experience/ Resolving Homework Issues.

WHEN: Saturday, April 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE: Dickey Stephens Ball Park, 400 West Broadway, North Little Rock, Ark., under the concourse.

WHY: The Pulaski County Special School District is working to build a stronger parental involvement program that strengthens partnerships among parents, teachers, principals, administrators and other school personnel which will lead to improvements in student academic achievement. The Parent Advisory Council met several times this year and expressed their desire for a district-wide parental involvement activity. With the support of parents, the PCSSD Jamboree is designed to provide parents an opportunity to acquire a greater understanding of the programs and entities available to provide services that support academic achievement.
