Police: Two robberies, homicide likely connected

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- North Little Rock Police are looking for three suspects who robbed the EZ Mart on MacArthur Drive Saturday night, then returned to shoot and kill the clerk.

Just after 9 p.m. three suspects enter the store wearing hoodies and bandanas to rob the business. After exiting the store one of the individuals re-entered the business and shot the clerk killing her instantly. The three suspects then fled the area on foot and were seen running west on West 36th Street.

In the North Little Rock shooting, the clerk has been identified as Akiya Egeston, 29. EZ Mart is offering a $10,000 reward for anyone with information.

Then around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, another robbery occured at the Citgo in Jacksonville located on Marshall Road. Police say a suspect with similar clothes from the North Little Rock robbery entered the store with a black handgun and demanded money. The clerk opened the register and the money was removed by the suspect. The suspect demanded cigarettes and for the clerk to open the safe. When the clerk could not do what the suspect wanted he threatened to shoot her. The clerk was able to run from the store unharmed and the suspect later fled on foot. The suspect took an undetermined amount of money.
