Interstate 630 pavement research will require weekend lane closures

LITTLE ROCK (AHTD) – Interstate 630 pavement research will require weekend lane closures in Little Rock, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

Crews are taking pavement samples on the outside lanes of Interstate 630 between the Baptist Health exit and University Avenue. The work will reduce eastbound and westbound traffic to two lanes in the work zone.

The lane closures will be Saturday, September 20th and Sunday, September 21st, between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., weather permitting. Traffic will be controlled using barrels and warning signs.

The work is being conducted to prepare for the proposed widening I-630 between Baptist Hospital and University Avenue. This project is part of AHTD’s Connecting Arkansas Program. More information on this project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com

Motorists should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ArkansasHighways.com. You can also follow us on Twitter @AHTD.
