NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The body part that was found in the Arkansas River on December 5 has been identified as a missing North Little Rock woman .

On Saturday, December 5, several law enforcement agencies responded to a call near the Big Dam Bridge regarding a leg floating in the Arkansas River. The body part was recovered and sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab. On Friday, December 11 the identification of the remains was announced by NLR police as missing person Shequenia Burnett.

The 38-year-old was reported missing on January 15, 2014. According to a report by the North Little Rock police, Burnett had not been seen seen since January 9, 2014.

This is an ongoing investigation.
