Benefit concert to honor injured Jacksonville heroes

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (April 20, 2012) - It's been a month since a Jacksonville firefighter Captain Daniel Jones was killed while responding to an accident.

Police says that Bryce Allen was driving the car that ran over Captain Jones as well as firefighter Jason Bowmaster and Officer Daniel DiMatteo.

Across the nation approximately 130,000 firefighters and police officers suffer duty related injuries or illness every year.  Many are permanently injured with life altering disabilities and are unable to return to work.

This weekend a benefit concert is being held to help the families of our local injured and fallen heroes.

Former American Idol finalist Bucky Covington has joined forces with charitable organization Help The Good Guys to honor and support our country's injured fire fighters, police officers and their families.

Together they work to raise awareness and funds for many firefighters and law enforcement officers who experience a financial crisis due to work related injuries each year.

The benefit concert, featuring Bucky Covington, will be Sunday, April 22 at 4 p.m. at The Electric Cowboy, located at 9515 Highway I-30 in Little Rock. Tickets are $15 at the door or $10 online.
