'Sound Off' Episode 4: Stonewall Democrats

'Sound Off' Episode 4: Stonewall Democrats

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (RSM) -- Our third interview is with Eric McDaniel of the Stonewall Democrats, a gay activist political organization that made headlines recently when addressed by Gov. Beebe earlier this year. CLICK HERE to listen.

Stonewall was caught up in controversy when leaders in the organization refused to publicly criticize the governor for making what some viewed as unfavorable remarks regarding gay rights in Arkansas. McDaniel has taken heat for this decision, and addresses that here in this interview. What do you think? Should the Stonewall Democrats have rebuked Gov. Beebe's comments, or did they do the right thing?

Congressman Tim Griffin talks about reducing nation's debt

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Pretty soon, members of a so-called "Super-Committee" will start meeting to figure out how to reduce our nation's debt.

No Arkansas congressional members are on that committee, but they're still offering their thoughts on what should be done. Congressman Tim Griffin is one of them.

He joined Craig O'Neill Thursday to talk briefly about a letter he sent to the committee -- and to answer some of Arkansans questions they have submitted on our THV Facebook page.

RNC chair headlines fundraising cruise in Ark.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) -- Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus is headlining a riverboat cruise fundraiser for the Arkansas Republican Party next month.

The state GOP on Monday announced that Priebus will participate in the "Cruising into the Majority" event on July 22 in North Little Rock on the Arkansas Queen. A party spokeswoman said tickets to the event are $150 per person and include a reception, a photo with Priebus, dinner and the cruise.

Several of the state's top Republican officials, including Lt. Gov. Mark Darr and Congressman Tim Griffin, are expected to be at the fundraiser.

Priebus was elected RNC chairman in January and is a former chairman of the Wisconsin Republican Party.
