Petition circulating to allow alcohol sales in NLR neighborhood
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Alcohol sales in Pulaski County may be legal, but one small neighborhood in North Little Rock is the exception to the rule, a proposal has been made to change it.
Wedged between the interstate and McCain along JFK boulevard is North Little Rock's Park Hill Neighborhood, a historic section of town known as North Little Rock's first planned suburban development. Residents in this area have mixed reactions to a proposal to change their local laws from wet to dry. Some are welcoming alcohol sales, but others are worries about the impact on the community.
"You can see how small the pocket is, compared to all North Little Rock, of what we're dealing with," said Chamber president Terry Hartwick.
Park Hill isn't a major population center, but it's the only dry neighborhood left, and some local business owners are trying to change that.
