Little Rock, Big Food: Hillcrest welcomes Kemuri

Little Rock, Big Food: Hillcrest welcomes Kemuri

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Brian Kearns, executive chef at Kemuri, Arthur's Prime Steakhouse and Ocean's at Arthur's, stopped by THV11 Saturday morning to talk about Kemuri, which just opened in Hillcrest.

Kemuri is a Japanese restaurant that specializes in a grilling style called robata, a technique that uses an open charcoal fire to cook proteins, such as chicken, shrimp and scallops. It creates a unique flavor that's inherently Japanese but will really appeal to people who like American grilling. The restaurant also creates sushi dishes, using recipes created by Ocean's sushi chef Alex Guzman.

Kearns previously worked in St. Louis before helping open YaYa's Euro Bistro in Little Rock.

Little Rock Restaurant Month: Cojita's Mexican Grill

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – All month long, we're celebrating Little Rock Restaurant Month and show casing the very best of Little Rock's cuisine.

Saturday morning, we interviewed Alejandro Alverez; Leo Alverez, Jr.; and Leonardo Alvarez, Sr.; of Cojita's Mexican Grill.

The restaurant is offering a free small cheese dip with the purchase of an entrée. Don't forget to ask your server about LRRM specials! Since Cojita's came onto our shows late in the month, they said they are offering their specials to anyone who comes in their restaurant next week and says they saw them on Channel 11.
