Thea Hosts Jazz Dance Class

Arkansas dance students will have the opportunity to spend the day with world-renowned dancer / choreographer Bill Hastings.The workshops will be in Little Rock on October 13 and in Fayetteville on October 14. Participants will expand their knowledge of dance while working in the style of the great Jack Cole.

Register online at www.theafoundation.org/2012-dance-workshops. The cost is $20, and the class limit is 50 people per session. Registration deadline is by end of day on Wednesday, October 10. Both cash and checks are accepted.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Cyclists from across the region will participate in the Sixth Annual Big Dam Bridge 100 Cycling Tour of Central Arkansas on Saturday, September 29, 2012. Crossing the longest bridge built specifically for cyclists, runners and walkers, the event is expected to draw about 2,500 riders of all ages from 25 states and throughout Arkansas.

LaHarpe Blvd. will be closed from 6 am - 8:45 am on Saturday morning, and the Big Dam Bridge and Two Rivers Bridge will both be closed to all non-event traffic from 6:30 am - 3:00 pm.

Cyclists from across the region will participate in the Sixth Annual Big Dam Bridge 100 Cycling Tour of Central Arkansas on Saturday, September 29, 2012. Crossing the longest bridge built specifically for cyclists, runners and walkers, the event is expected to draw about 2,500 riders of all ages from 25 states and throughout Arkansas.

The event offers rides from 15-100 miles. The 100 mile tour includes Little Rock, North Little Rock, Maumelle, Mayflower, Conway and Perry County, with volunteers staffing aid stations throughout the course. The start line is on LaHarpe in Little Rock and the finish line is on Main Street in the Argenta Arts District of North Little Rock.  There will be various street closures and delays during the day.

Argenta Arts Foundation again hosts The Big Dam Bridge 100 Finale Fest end of tour event Saturday, September 29, 9 am - 4 pm on Main Street, Argenta Arts District, downtown North Little Rock.

The festival will cater to Tour participants and their guests offering special activities, services, foods, entertainment and shopping opportunities that are certain to please the riders their family friends and sightseers.

Riders in the BDB 100 Bicycle Tour will have access to end-of-race benefits in the Rider Service Area. The Rider Number issued at registration is the pass to these free services in the Rider Service Area:

Services offered include Bike Repair Service, Bag Check, Bike Check, Spray Down, Changing Tents, Free Massage Therapy, and Live Entertainment by Fire & Brimstone, Swingshift Band, and Rockasaurus.
