Plan your kids' summer at Windstream Arkansas YES! Saturday

Windstream Arkansas YES! sports expo and summer camps fair, going on from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday (April 30) at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, is a day of family fun where parents can plan their kids' entire summer and youth ages 4-12 can compete in individual sports competitions. Admission is $5 per person and $2 per youth competition.

'Real Deal in the Rock'

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- It's billed as one of the country's largest basketball tournaments, and it keeps getting bigger every year.

The "Real Deal in the Rock" includes nine divisions for boys 9/Under, 10/Under, 11/Under, 12/Under, 13/Under, 14/Under, 15/Under, 16/Under and 17/Under. Teams are from around the country; the event is even stealing a few teams from larger cities such as Houston.

The games continue through Sunday at basketball courts around the city. For a list of game times and locations, you can go to their website.

'Cruise for Kids' raises money to fight child hunger

The North Little Rock Mayor's Youth Council has teamed up with the Arkansas Queen and Red Lobster to give you an unforgettable evening on Thursday, May 26th. "Cruise for the Kids" will benefit Arkansas Rice Depot's Food For Kids program, a backpack program that sends food home with kids after school. Sadly, Arkansas is #1 in child hunger. Food For Kids helps more than 30,000 children in Arkansas each year.

Guests will board the Arkansas Queen at 6:30pm. The cruise, dinner and a silent auction begin at 7:00pm.

NLRHS football players get national ranking at combine

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- NLR High School Charging Wildcat Football players Altee Tenpenny and Kendall Williams competed in the Nike Sparq Combine in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, April 9.

Altee Tenpenny finished the combine ranked #1 out of 2,000 football players and is ranked #2 nationally. Kendall Williams finished the combine in 2nd place and is ranked #3 nationally. Both Tenpenny and Williams have been invited to attend the prestigious Nike National Finals in Oregon.
