 What is tinkering? It's free-form experimentation with use of screwdrivers, motors, wires, glue, and more.
 

People can spend hours creating and building. Tinkering allows us to slow down and immerse ourselves in a workshop environment. Tinkerfest is an all-day celebration of building, adapting, making and creating!

Arkansas Sculptors Guild and the Argenta Arts Foundation are together hosting the 8th Annual Arkansas Sculpture Invitational Show & Sale. The show will start with a preview reception that correlates with Argenta's Third Friday ArtWalk, June 21, 6-9 PM.

The show continues Saturday, June 22, 9 AM-6PM and Sunday, June 23, 11AM-5PM. The preview reception is open to the public. Hors d'oeuvres will be served and there will be a cash bar.

Don't Miss 8th Annual Arkansas Sculpture Invitational Show & Sale

The Arkansas Sculptors Guild and the Argenta Arts Foundation are working together this year to host the 2013 Arkansas Sculpture Invitational. The show will start with a preview reception that correlates with Argenta’s Third Friday ArtWalk, which is held the third Friday of each month.

The location for the reception and show will be the Argenta community Theater, located at 405 Main Street, Argenta Arts District, downtown North Little Rock.

The preview reception is open to the public from 6-9 PM. Hors d’oeuvres will be served and there will be a cash bar.

LRFW 5 youth fashion sketch design competition

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Do you have what it takes to become the next winner of the Little Rock Fashion Week’s Youth Fashion Sketch Designer Competition? LRFW is accepting applications from students entering grades 1st through 12th for its annual Youth Fashion Sketch Design Competition. The competition will be split into three different categories ranging from children (1st-5th graders), juniors (6th-8th graders), and teens (9th-12th graders). Models of the fifth annual Little Rock Fashion Week have been selected. Male and female models of all ages and sizes traveled as far as Houston to Little Rock May 4 and May 5 to audition for a spot in the fastest growing fashion week in America.

On Sunday May 12, 2013, photos of the selected models were published at www.littlerockfashionweek.com/models.php. Ninety-five models were selected out of 456 for the fifth annual Little Rock Fashion Week (LRFW), which is July 15-20 in various locations in downtown Little Rock.

“I’m very excited for this year,” said Brandon D. Campbell, LRFW’s creator and executive producer. “We feature the best fresh face talent each year. I think that this could be the best group of models in our history. I look forward to working with them.”

Mark Twain to arrive in NLR Monday night

Dwayne Jones, principal owner of the DAM Riverboat Co., LLC announced Monday 6 am from the decks of the Mark Twain Paddle Wheel Riverboat as it departed the banks of the Pine Bluff River Port, that the Mark Twain will pull into her new home on the banks of the Inland Maritime Park in North Little Rock, Arkansas around 7:30 pm tonight.

Jones also stated “all were welcome to come to the banks of the North Shore to view the arrival of the "Mark Twain."

Jones said he and the crew left the Port of Cincinnati on Friday, May 3 en route to her new port in Arkansas traveling down the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers, across the White River and up the Arkansas River.  Jones said, "After this 11 day trip the crew is ready for a warm shower and a solid night's sleep."
