SOPHOMORE PARKING INSTRUCTIONS

* Depending on the direction from which you are coming, you will either turn left, right or go straight onto East Pershing Blvd to Poplar Street (there is a stoplight at the intersection.)

* Turn right onto Poplar Street

* Turn left into the SOPHOMRE entrance of the parking area

Be watchful! School personnel will be out directing traffic and assisting students in finding the appropriate area.

AHTD will hold public meetings over I-30, I-40 expansion

LITTLE ROCK (AHTD) - The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold Public Involvement Meetings in Pulaski County to discuss plans to widen Interstates 30 and 40.

The construction work will widen and reconstruct Interstates 30 and 40 between Interstate 530 in Little Rock and U.S. Highway 67 in North Little Rock. It includes a new bridge over the Arkansas River.

The meetings will be held at the following locations:

Several streets to be closed in Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – Soon, some roads near the Broadway Bridge will be closed while crews install a high-pressure gas line beneath the Arkansas River.

Beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8 and ending at 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, the following streets will be closed:

  • Third Street between State Street and Broadway Street;
  • Fourth Street between State Street and Broadway Street; and
  • Arch Street between Third Street and Fourth Street

Barricades and detour signage will be installed to inform motorists of the closure.

Improvements to I-40 will require a ramp closure in NLR

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AHTD) Improvements to Interstate 40 will require an overnight ramp closure in North Little Rock, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

Crews will be resurfacing the eastbound JFK Boulevard exit ramp (Exit 153 A).  Drivers are encouraged to exit using Exit 152, the Pike Avenue exit, located just west of Exit 153A.

The ramp closure will be Wednesday night, August 6th between 9:00 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., weather permitting. Traffic will be controlled using barrels and warning signs.

Ramp closures planned for I-530 in Pulaski County

LITTLE ROCK (AHTD) – Improvements along Interstate 530 northbound require interchange ramp closures in southern Pulaski County, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

Crews will resurface the I-530 northbound interchange ramps at Exit 15 in Hensley and Exit 12 in Woodson. The work will require closing each ramp for approximately one hour as it’s being resurfaced.   

The work will take place Friday, June 6th between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., weather permitting. Crews will begin at the Hensley interchange. Once it is complete, they will begin working at the Woodson interchange. Traffic will be controlled using barrels and warning signs.

Families invited to FREE North Little Rock Airport Day and Car Show

NORTH LITTLE ROCK (NLRMA) – The North Little Rock Municipal Airport at 8200 Remount Road #1 will host its 2nd Annual Airport Day and Car Show on Saturday, June 28, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Organized with assistance from the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), the event is free and open to the public.

“North Little Rock has a hidden gem in our airport, and we want to share that,” said airport director, Clay Rogers. “Last year’s event was a tremendous success and this year will be bigger and better.”

Pilots from all over Arkansas and surrounding areas will be flying in for the event in sport planes, antique planes, custom and home-built planes. There will be formation flying and antique cars will be on display. Car owners paid a $20 entry fee per car which will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Free hot dogs, chips and drinks will be available for everyone.

Routine bridge inspection will require lane closures on I-440

LITTLE ROCK (AHTD) – A routine bridge inspection will require lane closures and a ramp reduction on Interstate 430 in North Little Rock, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

Crews will be inspecting a bridge just south of Interstate 40. The work will require closing the I-430 southbound outside lane. It will also reduce the width of the southbound on ramp from Interstate 40 eastbound. The closures will occur between mile markers 9 and 10.

The closures will be Tuesday, May 20th and Wednesday, May 21st, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., weather permitting. Traffic will be controlled using barrels and warning signs.
