Severe weather is expected once again in Arkansas beginning this afternoon. A strong storm system will move into the southern plains later today with a high risk of severe weather in Oklahoma and Kansas shifting eastward into Arkansas overnight tonight and Wednesday.

Sunshine and pleasant readings will continue today through Wednesday as high pressure continues to control our weather. However, rain is back in the picture by weeks end into the weekend.

Cooler drier air filtered into the state over the weekend.

A small disturbance will bring a slight chance of rain in NE Arkansas early Monday morning.  The rest of the state will stay dry as high pressure continues to have control. Temperatures continue to run 10 degrees below average, but will warm up later in the week.

A pattern change is underway across the state. A strong upper low over Colorado will continue to spin energy across the area resulting in periods of rain and T'Storms.

Thursday cold air aloft with interact with warm ground temps to produce scattered t'storms, some with large hail and damaging winds. The main low will not clear the state until Friday night keep rain chance into early Saturday.
